What makes a Blueprint Home well organized and more livable?

Unlike production builders we talk to our clients, we get a clear understanding of what they want and what they will need in the next five to ten years. We ask questions about their life styles, hobbies, and special needs. We don’t make any assumptions, we ask first. We look to the blueprint to determine how the house “lives”. We anticipate where people will gather when entertaining, what the house traffic pattern will be. And what the storage needs are. We believe that you can’t have too many closets and we’ve never seen a garage or a pantry that’s too big. We understand there has to be a space to drop the groceries on the counter, a place to hold the dirty laundry and a shower needs to be large enough to be able to pick up a dropped bar of soap, just to mention a few. We believe in Storage/storage/storage, drop zones, functional laundry rooms, a working kitchen, a bath room that is more like a spa. A master bedroom that will amply hold a king size bed, an armoire, dresser, and window seat with room to spare.

Quality construction and construction inspections are two things that are on the minds of people buying and building new homes. The trouble is, most builders do not take the time to actually define quality. They hire third party inspectors to review the work after the fact.

How we install and what we install are very conscience decision for us. We insist our homes to be low maintenance, quite, comfortable, and very livable. We don’t hire third party inspectors because we are very proactive when it comes to the quality of construction. We are constantly inspecting and coaching each trade in order to keep raising the bar on “fit and finish”.

To complement our work in the field we use only the finest products from well known manufacturers like WeatherShield Windows, Delta Faucets, Whirlpool Appliances and Kohler plumbing fixtures. We have pride in what you do and it’s easy to see it’s well made and has enduring value.

shopping_cartBlueprint Homes are Eco- Friendly – Green Building Practices

Green building practices are use to reduce the environmental impact of the house we build. Green buildings are designed to reduce the overall impact on human health and the natural environment by:

  • Efficiently using energy, water and other resources
  • Protecting occupant health and improving employee productivity
  • Reducing waste, pollution and environmental degradation.

shopping_cartBlueprint Homes are a Great Value

First of all, the value of your new home can’t accurately be measure by the cost per square foot, because it’s generally true that the bigger the house become the less expensive it is per square foot. At BluePrint Homes we look costs differently than most builders. We look at cost of the house that do and do not add value. Examples of this are interest cost on a construction loan or the expense of hauling away construction waste to a land fill. On a $400,000 you could typically save about $40,000 or 10% by having it custom built verse buying a production or spec built home.Great value also comes “plan ahead” value shopping. The longer we have to source the material for your home the better we can negotiate with our vendors. It you wait to the last minute for something you have to have tomorrow you’re at the mercy of the marketplace.

Then there are tricks of the trade: Cantilevers where you can to add space and add design appeal, using big doors and windows are often less expensive than standard size units. Garden rooms can often be created for only the cost of the door.

And finally, by working with a custom builder who keeps his overhead expenses low so that extra expense won’t be come at your expense.
