In January of 2007, my wife, Linda and I had given up trying to find a home that had all the features we had been looking for. I then talked to John Schmitz of Blueprint homes about perhaps adding on to my existing home or building a new one. After talking for several days and looking at homes he had built. My wife and I decided to have him build ours. What helped us arrive at this decision was the homes John had built and was in the process of building were very high quality homes. The top reasons we decided to go with John were multiple daily visits he makes to the building sites and the comments made by those who were working for him about how he works to make the every have something special, making it much more than average home. We were very happy working with John from day one, we requested a few minor changes during construction and John was always there to do as we wanted. We are very happy with our home and would enthusiastically recommend John to build your home.

As first time home buyers, we were inexperienced with many aspects of purchasing a new home. We never considered building our own house; however, we fell in love with a home in the final stages of construction by John Schmitz of Blueprint Homes.

Working with John was such a pleasure. He was not only our builder, but also a partner and advocate in the final stages of construction. He assisted us with the selection and purchase of several items, and made alterations to the original home plan in order to meet specifications that we brought to the design process. He was always amenable to our ideas, and very accommodating to our requests and preferences.

It was always obvious to us that John wanted us to be happy with our home. John is a detail oriented builder with high standards for quality. His daily presence at the house kept things on schedule and the quality of work high. John was straightforward regarding costs and timelines for each project and he worked hard on our behalf to keep costs down while allowing us to make changes in the original design. He made decisions based on whether or not he would be satisfied were it to be done in his own house. For example, with one project, when John was not satisfied with work that had been completed, he took the initiative to have the project redone at no additional cost to us. We had not noticed the minor imperfection, and were impressed at his concern for detail and hands on approach to problem solving.

We also have appreciated how accessible he has been since moving into our home. He always returned our calls promptly and answered questions in a timely manner. We valued his advice and opinions on design and construction and knew that he always wanted us to be happy even after the closing.

Our home is wonderful and we are very satisfied with the finished product. We can give John Schmitz our highest recommendation as a home builder.
